While we have started taking our oral health and dental care seriously and we have also adapted “flossing” into our oral regime. However, most of us do not give importance to whether to floss first or to brush first. Flossing plays a major role in cleaning the teeth properly.
People are confused with “floss-brush” or “brush-floss” which could do better. Researches and studies say that the “floss-brush” technique has proved to be more effective as compared to “brush-floss”.
It is said that the “floss-brush” technique helps in increasing the fluoride concentration from the toothpaste making it more effective. It helps the teeth resist decay or cavities and makes them stronger.
Undoubtedly flossing has been an extra job for everyone other there but it has its own technique which makes it effective. Flossing helps in removing the plaque between the teeth which is impossible for bristles to reach. It reduces tooth decay, tooth cavities, and gum diseases helping in keeping the teeth all clean and infection-free.
Follow the right steps to “Floss” your teeth:
- Make sure your dental floss is 18-24 inches.
- Roll the floss around your middle finger and leave 1-2 inches in between.
- Hold the floss tight with your index and thumb finger.
- Carefully place the dental floss between your teeth and slide it up and down in order to clean your teeth properly.
- Curve the floss from the base in C-shape to perfectly place the floss in between teeth and gums. Repeat the same for the rest of the teeth.
